About Me
My start with clay was at an evening class around nine years ago, and I was immediately hooked. It reawakened my creativity which had lain dormant for many years since studying Art at school. I loved how tactile the clay felt in my hands and how calm it made me feel when I was working with it.
I've been an member of the Manchester Ceramics Collective for seven years, a group of fourteen ceramicists sharing a workspace and kilns, working alongside this diverse group of makers who share their knowledge and expertise with each other has been fantastic and has improved my ceramic practice considerably.
My current work is focused on my love of hand building and decoration. I’m exploring adding floral details to pieces and experimenting with adding hand painted details to create depth and texture. I’m excited to see where this leads, as the work becomes larger and more sculptural.
